50 – number of minutes spent in the waiting room

10 – number of minutes spent in the exam room waiting for the doctor

4 – number of minutes actually meeting with the doctor

64 – number of minutes wasted this afternoon

(Everything looked good at the appointment, by the way. I’m measuring right at 34 weeks, and the heartbeat sounded normal at around 159 bpm. The extra waiting today was 1) because of having a late-afternoon appointment [which I had to do this time because I wasn’t able to leave work earlier] and 2) because of the holiday and the doctor’s office having to squeeze five days’ worth of appointments into three days this week. I return on January 8 for my 36-week appointment.)
